(Asian News Hub) – A senior police officer on Thursday accused a house owner of misleading the security forces which led to the killing of a policeman and wounding of three soldiers during an operation against militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, UNI reported.
Constable Rohit Chhib of the elite counter insurgency unit of the police and Pakistani militant Babar Bhai of the Jaish-e-eMohammad (JeM) were killed and three soldiers and two civilians were wounded in the gunfight in Pariwan village on Wednesday evening.
“The owner and his family members where the militant was hiding deliberately misled the search team by saying that no militant was hiding in their house which led to the collateral damage,” Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar told reporters in Kulgam,”Therefore action under law will be taken against them,” he said, as per UNI.
