Pulwama, Mar 05: Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested a man posing as a journalist, along with his associate, for demanding/extorting money from people in Rahmoo Pulwama.
In a statement to Asian News Hub, a police spokesman said Pulwama police arrested a person, namely Abass Ahmad Seh, son of Mohd Akbar Seh, resident of Nagbal, along with his associate, Sheraz Ahamed Dar, son of Mohammad Ameen Dar, resident of Urpara Nagbal Shopian.
He said both persons were allegedly claiming to be journalists and were demanding money from the owner of the house, namely Mohd Shafi Rather, son of Gh Nabi Rather, resident of Rahmoo, for not exposing certain activities like construction on Khacharie.

Police have recovered a fake identity card and mobile phones from the accused persons, he said.
Case FIR no 19/2024 under sections 419 and 506 of the IPC has been registered at PS Rajpora, and the investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
