‘Reserved seats for women to be ensured’
The Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Kashmir on Friday said that they have identified three major routes where mini bus services will be started shortly to mitigate the sufferings of people.

Talking to Asian News Hub (ANH), RTO Kashmir, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari said that three routes Budgam to Hazratbal via LD hospital, Pantha Chowk to Soura via Batamaloo and Parimpora to Harwan via Lalchowk have been identified so far where the mini bus services will be ensured soon.
He said that the decision was taken after the requests were received from the people in this regard. “Unfortunately, we don’t have any scientific data about people travelling in mini buses, but still we have decided to begin with these three main long routes and further steps will be taken in the future,” he added.
The RTO said in these bus services, the order about reserving seats for women will be implemented in letter and spirit to prevent harrassment cases in buses.

He also said that if there is demand about the ladies special buses, the department will enhance the number of buses for the lady passengers and also a request in this regard has been made from Kothi Bagh and the number of special buses will be increased.
