Our teams catch such dogs, being rescued after treatment: MVO SMC
Srinagar, Oct 03: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has been making efforts to treat the stray dogs for seasonal myiasis and scabies disease, which according to the authorities will end soon after the onset of winter season.
The stray dogs with head injuries could be found everywhere in Srinagar at present while the locals here have complained that these dogs have been giving them tough times.
“In our locality, almost three-four dogs have head injuries. Due to the fear of these dogs, the children don’t come out of their homes as well,” a local resident from Habba Kadal said.
Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Municipal Veterinary Officer (MVO) Tawheed Ahmad said that the dogs having myiasis and scabies disease are being treated almost every day.
“Our SMC teams usually catch such dogs as they need long term treatment. We administer the injections to these dogs for the treatment and later release them again,” he said, adding that there was no need to panic over the issue.
