Srinagar, March 11 (ANH): The government has appointed an AGMUT cadre officer as new Inspector General of Police CID Jammu and Kashmir.

“Sh. Mahendra Nath Tiwari IPS (AGMUT: 04) awaiting orders of posting, is posted as IGP CID, J&K, against an available vacancy” reads an order of home department J-K a copy of which lies with Asian News Hub.
Mahendra has served in Mizoram police and was later transferred to Delhi as additional CP PHQ, Delhi police.
According to news agency KDC, Mahendra Nath Tiwari, is an expert in Cyber Security and Cyber Law. He was also DIG in Mizoram Police and was involved in various international assignments by the United Nations.
Mahendra, an IPS officer of 2004 has done Masters in Political Science & International Relations from Allahabad University, LL.M from K R Manglam University, Gurugram, Haryana, PG Diploma in Human Rights and is a Gold medallist from Indian Institute of Human Rights.
