According to the news agency—KNO, the seven injured persons have been identified as Javaid Ahmad Matto, Muzafar Ahmad Matto, Zahoor Ahmad Nara, Sharik Zahoor, Anas Wani, Mohsin Ahmad and Mumtaz Ahmad.
Shabir Ahmad, uncle of Sharik Zahoor said that the condition of almost all the injured persons is critical and are not even in a position to talk with anyone.
“It is not for the first time that they have helped the fire victims. In the earlier fire incidents, these injured persons have also rushed to the spot very quickly and helped dousing the flames,” Ahmad said.
Ahmad further said that during the massive blaze, the locals heard the cries of people, who were struck inside the houses following which they (seven injured persons) entered into the premises by risking their lives and rescued all of them. “At least five persons who were stuck inside were rescued by these brave heroes,” he said.
The youth when rescuing the people suffered severe injuries when a gas cylinder exploded in one of the two houses following which they were shifted to SHMS hospital for treatment.
The locals said that the seven people, who are living in the vicinity put every effort to douse the flames, which helped in preventing the spread of the fire further.
“We are proud of our children. We will always remember what they have done today,” Bashir Ahmad, a local said, adding that the situation would have been different in case the youth wouldn’t have made efforts to douse the flames on time.
