Srinagar, Feb 19: Srinagar Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a culpable homicide case reported in the Bemina area on Tuesday morning.
According to officials, Police Station Bemina received information from reliable sources about an unidentified male body found in the flood spill channel near Darul-Uloom, Bemina. Acting swiftly, a police team, accompanied by a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) mobile unit and a crime photographer from PCR Srinagar, reached the spot to collect evidence. Relevant exhibits were recovered, and proceedings under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 194 were initiated.
Preliminary investigations indicated a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Subsequently, an FIR (No. 13/2025) under sections 105, 238, and 241 of the BNS was registered at PS Bemina, and the probe was launched.

During the investigation, two suspects, identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Machloo, son of Ali Mohammad, and Muneer Ahmad Sofi, son of Bashir Ahmad Sofi, were found involved in the crime. Both accused have been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
