Sopore, Feb 18: After an eight-year-long trial, justice has finally been served. Aijaz Sheikh, a self-proclaimed faith healer accused of preying on innocent children, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison. The court also imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh on him for his crimes.
The case, which had sent shockwaves through Sopore and beyond, saw years of legal proceedings before reaching its conclusion. Sheikh was found guilty of exploiting and abusing minors under the guise of faith healing, betraying the trust of those who sought his help.
