Jammu, April 20: Two persons lost their lives, one is still missing, and over 90 others were rescued after a cloudburst triggered a flash flood in a village near the Chenab Bridge in the Dharamkund area of Ramban district on Sunday morning.
An official told that the sudden cloudburst led to a sharp rise in the water level of a local nallah, which turned into a flash flood, sweeping through the village.
“Two people died, one is still missing, and over 90 people have been rescued. Ten houses were completely destroyed, while 25 to 30 others sustained partial damage,” the official said.

As panic gripped the area, Dharamkund police immediately launched a rescue operation and successfully evacuated around 90 to 100 people who were trapped by the surging waters.
Authorities have started assessing the extent of the damage. Rescue and relief efforts are still underway. (JKNS)
