Srinagar, June 29: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar on Wednesday said that two categorized local Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants were killed in a gunfight in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

“He said that it was an important encounter as the encounter site at Mirbazar Kulgam was very close to NHW (Yatra route),”.

Quoting Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone Police tweeted,”Both the killed terrorists have been identified as categorised local terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT. Again an important encounter as the operation site was very close to NHW (Yatra route),”.

“KulgamEncounterUpdate: Killed LeT terrorists identified as Yasir Wani R/O Wangund Kulgam & Raees Manzoor R/O Chotipora, Shopian. Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 AK-47 rifle & one pistol recovered,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
