Srinagar, Dec 30: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast snowfall at many places in Jammu and Kashmir from January 3 to 6, with peak activity expected on January 4 and 5.
According to the MeT department, weather is likely to remain dry until December 31. However, two Western Disturbances (WDs) are expected to affect J&K and adjoining areas starting January 1.
The first, a feeble WD, may bring cloudy skies with light snowfall at scattered places between the evening of January 1 and the morning of January 2. The second, a moderate WD, is likely to impact the region from January 3 to 6, bringing light to moderate rain in the plains of Jammu and snow in many parts of J&K.

The MeT department also warned of heavy snowfall in isolated higher reaches of the region on January 4 and 5.
