Srinagar, Jul 29: Various female students of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) in Awantipora, Jammu and Kashmir, staged a protest on Friday morning against the poor quality of mess food being served to them.

The protesting students while talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that they are getting poor mess food at the hostel since last one month

They said that they have already brought this issue in notice of warden but to no avail. “If our mess charges were increased then why we’re aren’t being served proper food,” said a student.

She said that despite bringing this issue in notice of higher ups several times who assured that action will be taken, however, on ground it proved hoax.

Students requested university authorities to look into the matter at an earliest so that they can get proper mess food of good quality.

Meanwhile, protest was called off by the student after they were assured by university authorities that they were assured that they are going to take genuine action in this regard.
