Srinagar, Oct 8: IPS officer Rakesh Balwal, a native of Jammu and Kashmir, has been promoted to the Super Time Scale of Deputy Inspector General of Police in Manipur.
The Governor of Manipur has approved the promotion of three IPS officers of the 2012 batch, including Balwal, to the Super Time Scale rank.

Balwal, a 2012 batch IPS officer, has served in several important capacities during his career, including as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar while on deputation to Jammu and Kashmir
