Srinagar, Oct 04: A gunfight has raged between militants and security forces in Draach area of Keegam in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday evening.
Reports reaching The Asian News Hub said that Joint team of Security Forces launched a Cordon-and-Search operation, after receiving information about the presence of militants in the area.
They said as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering an encounter.
“Encounter has started at Drach area in #Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
