Srinagar, Feb 06: The Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Department has suspended two doctors and imposed a ban on their private practice following an inquiry into an incident at Hakeem Sonuallah Hospital, Sopore.
According to Government Order No. 115 –JK (HME) of 2025, issued on February 6, 2025, the suspension was enforced to ensure a fair and impartial investigation while maintaining the integrity of the healthcare system.
The suspended doctors include Dr. Anjum Nazir, Consultant Gynaecologist, SDH Sopore, and Dr. Tariq Ahmad Dar, Medical Officer (Diploma in Anesthesia), DH Bandipora.

The government has also sealed the operation theater of Hakeem Sonuallah Hospital, Sopore, until the investigation is completed. Additionally, both doctors have been banned from engaging in private practice across Jammu and Kashmir.
