Ganderbal Chemist nabbed for contraband substance trade, authorities seal medical shop

Ganderbal Police alongwith Executive Magistrate concerned arrested a chemist for possessing and supplying contraband substance to the youth and sealed a medical shop at Wakoora.

In a statement issued to ANH, they said in continuation to the investigation of case FIR No. 287/2023 of Police Station Ganderbal, one accused namely Hilal Ahmad Ganie son of Gh Mohi-ud-Din Ganie resident of Wakoora who had been arrested by Ganderbal Police before some days, confessed that Ganie Medical Shop at Wakoora is supplier of contraband substances to the local youth of the area.

Acting swiftly on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar, Police Party led by Incharge PP Shadipora under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal alongwith Executive Magistrate concerned raided Ganie Medical Shop at Wakoora.

During search, contraband substance was recovered/seized on the spot and the accused (Chemist) identified as Mehraj-ud-Din Ganie resident of Wakoora was arrested for possessing and supplying the contraband substance to the local youth. Moreover, the Medical Shop was also sealed by the Executive Magistrate 1st Class Wakoora on the spot.

Community members have appreciated the swift action of Police. Police assure community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace & cooperation of the general public is pivotal for eradicating this dreadful menace & its roots, the statement added.
