Srinagar, Jun 15: Dr. Syed Aalishan Fatima from Srinagar has created history by becoming the first female doctor from Jammu and Kashmir to qualify for the prestigious DM Cardiovascular, Endovascular & Interventional Radiology course at AIIMS Delhi.
She secured Rank 3 in the highly competitive INI-SS (Institute of National Importance Super Specialty) Entrance Exam – April 2025 Session, and did so in her very first attempt.
Dr. Aalishan completed her MBBS in 2017 from Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar. She later pursued MD Radiodiagnosis from the same college after securing State Rank 13 in NEET-PG 2018.
In 2022, she earned the DNB Radiodiagnosis from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, and completed her Senior Residency at SMHS/SSH and associated hospitals in May 2025.

She is married, mother to a 15-month-old baby, and the sister of Anantnag Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Syed Fakhrudin Hamid.
Dr. Aalishan expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her parents, siblings, husband, and in-laws for their constant love, support, and encouragement throughout her journey.
Her achievement is now inspiring many across the country, especially young girls aspiring to pursue medicine.
Sharing a message of hope, she said, “Let your dreams be louder than your doubts.”
