Pampore, Aug 14: The body of a sand digger from Kulgam, who drowned in the River Jhelum near Leterbal, Pampore, on August 13 (Wednesday), was recovered on Thursday evening, ending the search operation.
An official told that the deceased has been identified as Khursheed Ahmad, son of Mushtaq Ahmad, a resident of D.H. Pora in Kulgam district. He had drowned while extracting sand from the river along with two others, who were rescued, while he went missing.

The recovery was made possible through a coordinated effort by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Fire and Emergency Services, local police, and civilian volunteers. (KNC)
