The Home Minister revealed that the central government was alerted within 10 minutes of the crash. “I immediately contacted the Gujarat Chief Minister, Home Minister, and the Civil Aviation Minister. He further shared details about the crash: “The aircraft was carrying nearly 1.25 lakh litres of fuel. Given the high temperature at the time, the chances of survival were extremely low. I personally visited the crash site. The retrieval of the deceased is almost complete.”

Shah also confirmed that DNA samples of the victims and their families, including relatives abroad, are being collected. “About 1,000 DNA tests will be conducted. The bodies will be handed over to the families only after verification,” he stated.

In a high-level review meeting, all aspects of the crash and rescue efforts were discussed. The Civil Aviation Minister has been directed to ensure a swift and thorough investigation into the cause of the crash.
