Shopian, May 5: A nomadic child died after she came under a wooden log while playing in the Trenz area of Shopian on Tuesday, officials said.

Officials said the incident occurred while the minor was playing when a log accidentally fell on her, causing fatal injuries.
They said she was shifted to a nearby medical facility, where doctors declared her dead.
The deceased has been identified as Mahira Jan, daughter of Babu Khan, a resident of Rajouri, presently staying at Baba Khider, Trenz.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident, and further proceedings are underway.
