Shopian, April 30: Two engineers lost their lives while another was injured after a boiler explosion at Fruit Mandi Aglar in Shopian on Wednesday late evening.
Officials said three engineers were repairing a steamer/boiler at the mandi when it suddenly exploded, leaving all of them critically injured.

All three were rushed to District Hospital Shopian for treatment. One of the victims, identified as Saurabh Singh, died shortly after being admitted, while another engineer identified as Shiv Kumar succumbed later during treatment, they said.
The third engineer is currently undergoing treatment.
All the engineers are residents of Aligarh Uttar Pradesh.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
