Tehran, Jun 26: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has congratulated the Iranian people and armed forces, claiming victory over Israel following the recent 12-day military conflict.
“I offer my congratulations on the victory over the Zionist regime,” Khamenei said in a post on X, referring to Israel using a term commonly used by Iranian officials. He praised the country’s military response and the unity of the nation during the confrontation.
According to Israeli authorities, the conflict resulted in 28 deaths, all but one of them civilians, and over 3,000 people injured. The Israeli Health Ministry reported that 3,238 people were hospitalized, including 23 seriously injured. Israel also reported that around 31,000 buildings were damaged and 4,000 vehicles destroyed. Key infrastructure sites, including a power station, an oil refinery in Haifa, and a university in central Israel, were hit by missiles.

Iranian health ministry, on the other hand said that at least 627 people have been killed and 4,870 others injured in Israeli attacks on Iran between June 13 and June 25
The conflict saw Iran launching around 550 ballistic missiles and nearly 1,000 drones, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Despite heavy Israeli air defense responses, at least 31 missiles hit populated areas or critical infrastructure.
