Srinagar police on Wednesday said to have arrested an accused involved in raping a 12-year-old minor girl in Barzulla area of Srinagar.

They said that the accused is a close relative of victim girl, case under FIR no 56/2023 under sections 5, 6 of POCSO act registered in Sadar Poloce Station and investigations are underway.
Srinagar police in a tweet said, “One Accused namely Zaid Feroz of old barzulla, Srinagar aged 22 years arrested for raping a 12 year old child (name withheld). The accused is close relative of victim girl child. FIR no 56/2023 under sections 5, 6 of POCSO act registered in Sadar PS & investigation started.”
