IGP Kashmir Inaugurates Two-Day Training Programme on NDPS Act to Strengthen Fight Against Drug Menace

Srinagar, Dec 05: A two-day training programme kickstarted by IGP Kashmir V.K Birdi-IPS focusing on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was inaugurated today at PCR Kashmir, organized by Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) Kashmir in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Jammu & Kashmir.

IGP Kashmir in his inaugural speech stressed the importance of stringent enforcement of the NDPS Act in combating the growing menace of drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

He emphasized the need for imparting specialized training to officers, which would enhance their awareness, sharpen investigative skills, and strengthen the collective efforts in the fight against the drug menace in the region.

IGP Kashmir also underlined the implementation of innovative methods as well as actionable strategies to address the drug abuse in Kashmir.

The NCB Team headed by Superintendent NCB Jammu, Raj Kumar Shah gave detailed insights of the Investigative procedures. The event marks an important step in strengthening the fight against drug trafficking and abuse. The two-day workshop will include sessions, discussions, and training aimed at enhancing the capacity of law enforcement officers to deal with investigation related to NDPS cases.
