Srinagar, March 28: The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) on Thursday issued a stern directive to all child care institutions (CCI’s), including Darul Alooms, prohibiting the use of children for fundraising activities in any public setting or door-to-door.
“Failure to comply will result in severe consequences, with warnings of closure for the institutions involved and potential criminal prosecution against the responsible superintendents and management,” reads the circular.
“This measure underscores the commitment to safeguarding children’s rights and preventing their exploitation for monetary gain,” said CWC in a circular.
