Srinagar, Feb 6: In a sweeping operation, a food safety team led by Assistant Commissioner Yameen ul Nabi conducted rigorous inspections of manufacturing units in Zakura and Hazrabal areas. The focus was on businesses dealing with ready-to-eat foods, bakeries, and spices. Two compounding units faced sanitary challenges, resulting in imminent legal action.
Approximately 80 kgs of minced meat, transported in unsanitary conditions, were promptly destroyed.
Food business operators received stern warnings to adhere strictly to the Food Safety and Standards Act. Non-compliance could lead to legal repercussions, including facility closure.
