The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri Thursday conducted an exclusive visit of Jinab Sahab Anchar Soura to inspect the developmental requirements of the Mosque, Shrine and the area, besides to take first hand appraisal of the issues confronted by the locals.
He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad; Commissioner SMC/ CEO SSCL Athar Amir; SE PWD; officers of District Administration and Revenue Department.

While responding to the demand of the Shrine and Masjid Committee regarding reconstruction of the mosque, Div Com maintained that the mosque holds heritage importance so the structure needs to be preserved.
He said that an amount of 1.75 cr approved for the Mosque shall be used for facade development and renovation works.
He stated that the Divisional Administration will work out with the Waqf Board on the proposal for the construction of a new mosque in the adjoining premises of the Shrine.

Meanwhile, Div Com directed SMC to renovate the entire Wazu Khana and refurbish the structure with new window panes, tile work and other facilities.
The senior citizens and local representatives requested Div Com for the development of a playground on a modern pattern with high mast and flood lights so the youth may engage in sports activities and night games.

While assuring the locals, Div Com directed concerned to develop the playground with all the facilities besides instructed concerned to develop a walking path around the circumference of ground with complete fencing.
Div Com also assured youth that sports kits shall be provided to them by the district administration to channelize their energy and potential for building a career in sports.
Locals of the area also brought the issues of road connectivity, drainage system and dog menace into the notice of Divisional Commissioner and other officers.

On the occasion, Div Com enjoined upon SE, PWD to complete the earth filling of the remaining segment of the road and use the construction demolition waste for the same purpose.
He also directed for exploring the feasibility of constructing another road as demanded by the locals.
Regarding dog menace in the area which poses threat to lives of children and elders, Commissioner SMC, assured to address the issue on priority basis.

Bidhuri also inspected the lake-spring at the Shrine of Jinab Sahab Soura and directed SMC and locals to conduct a collective cleanliness drive to revive it and restore its pristineness. He also directed beautification of the landscape around the spring.

The minimum temperature has plummeted further in Kashmir while Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded the coldest night of the season at minus 2.0 degree Celsius.
Several places across Kashmir including Srinagar, Qazigund, Ganderbal, Pahalgam, Kupwara, Shopian, Bandipora and Baramulla recorded coldest night of season.

In Qazigund, the mercury settled at minus 2.0 degree Celsius while in Gulmarg, a minimum temperature of minus 2.2 degree Celsius was recorded.
Pahalgam, a famous tourist place, recorded a low of minus 5.1 degree Celsius while Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.7 degree Celsius.
In order to strengthen and synergise the security grid of District Srinagar, ADGP Law and order Vijay Kumar chaired a joint meeting of Police and CRPF in Police Control Room Srinagar.
A police spokesman in a statement issued to Asian News Hub said, IG CRPF Ajay Kumar Yadav, IGP Kashmir V.K Birdi, DDIB, DIG CKR, DIG CRPF North & DIG CRPF South, SSP Srinagar, SSP PCR Kashmir, all the Nodal COs of CRPF, SP Cargo Srinagar, all Zonal SPs and SDPOs of Srinagar participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, a detailed security plan of Srinagar district was discussed in threadbare where in CRPF and Police were acquainted with their new roles besides suggestions were also taken from the field officers to have a fair idea of the shortcomings, avoid confusion at the cutting edge in order to make it a perfect and comprehensive CT grid.
Besides, ADGP L&O, IG CRPF and IGP Kashmir also contributed their valid suggestions. ADGP stressed upon all the officers that idea of a perfect security grid is only possible if the things discussed are implemented on ground in letter and spirit.

ADGP has focused upon strengthening function of joint police control room and better communication mechanism between field officers of CRPF and JKP in city. Area domination of water bodies was discussed and included in area domination plan in today’s meeting.
He has also instructed SSP Srinagar to conduct joint mock drill to handle post terror incident situations in city. ADGP Kashmir reinforced the commitment to dealing strictly with individuals disrupting the peace and emphasized the need for stringent actions under the law.
ADGP Kumar emphasized the necessity to strengthen the CI grid and enhance the basic functioning of police stations through effective supervision. The ADGP’s guidance and directives aim to fortify security measures and maintain a secure and peaceful environment in the district.
