Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said to have arrested two terrorist associates linked with proscribed terror outfit Al-Badr from Shalteng area of Srinagar.

In a statement issued to Asian News Hub (ANH), a police spokesman said during late night checking at a security checkpoint along Shalteng Bridge by the joint parties of police station Parimpora and police component Mujgund, two terrorist associates linked with proscribed terror outfit Al-Badr were arrested.
They have been identified as Yawar Rashid son of Abdul Rashid Dar and Basit Nabi son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat resident of SaderBala, Bandipora, he said.
During search, incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 Pistol, 02 Pistol Magazines, 28 Pistol rounds and 01 Hand Grenade was recovered from their possession.
Regarding the incident, a case vide FIR No. 159/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Parimpora and initiated, the spokesman added.
