Jammu and Kashmir police alongwith security forces arrested two militant associates linked with proscribed militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and recovered arms and ammunition and other incriminating materials from their possession in Baramulla.

In a statement issued to Asian News Hub (ANH), a police spokesman said that a joint team of Baramulla Police and Army (8RR) at a checkpoint established at Paranpeelan Bridge Uri tactfully apprehended two suspected persons who were coming from Dachi towards Paranpeelan Bridge and tried to flee while noticing naka party.
They have been identified as Zaid Hassan Malla son of Ghulam Hassan Malla resident of Mir Sahib Baramulla & Mohd Arif Channa son of Nazir Ahmad Channa resident of Stadium Colony Baramulla. During their personal search 02 Glock Pistols, 2 Pistol Magazines, 2 Pistol Silencers, 5 Chinese Grenades & 28 live Pistol rounds were recovered from their possession, he said.
He said that they were involved in cross border smuggling of arms & ammunition at the behest of Pakistan based terror handlers and its further distribution to LeT terrorists for carrying out terror activities.
A case under Indian Arms Act & UA (P) Act was registered in Police Station Uri and further investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
