Police Inspector injured in a militant attack in Iddgah Sgr succumbs

A police inspector, who was shot at by militants in Eidgah area of Srinagar on October 29, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning.

Reports said that the inspector identified as Masroor Ali Wani a resident of Narwara Iddgah, was undergoing treatment at SKIMS Soura after being attacked by militants in Eidgah when he was playing cricket on October 29.

They said that he was shifted to Paras Hospital for treatment, where he was shifted to AIIMS New Delhi a few days ago for specialised treatment, however, he succumbed to his injuries this morning.

Driver dies after tractor trolley overturns in Ganderbal

A driver died after tractor trolley overturned and fell on him in Bonibagh village of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday, officials said.

An official told the driver identified as Tawseef Ahmed son of Nisar Ahmad Lone of Bonibagh was injured after tractor trolley overturned on him.

He said that soon after the incident Tawseef was immediately taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

After completing medico-legal formalities body was handed over to his family for last rites.

Six shops, 2 rooms damaged in a fire incident in Srinagar

At least six shops and two residential rooms were damaged in a fire incident that broke out at Zampa Kadal, Srinagar on Thursday morning, official said.

He said that fire broke out from one of the shops and quickly spread to the other shops.

The official added that, among six shops, one of the rooms was used for Kashmir arts under the trade name ‘Gulnoor Kashmir Arts’ and the other room were used for residential purposes.

Similarly, the roof of the shopping line and rooms were completely gutted, along with household goods, textiles, and other items that were also damaged in the fire.

Meanwhile, the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES), personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.

The official said the cause of fire is under investigation and no loss of life or casualties have been reported in the incident.
