The CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), Athar Aamir Khan, who is also Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Tuesday said that the works in downtown areas have been started and it will be completed by the end of this year.

Speaking exclusively with Asian News Hub (ANH), SSCL CEO, said that after Lal Chowk and adjacent areas, the developmental works have started a pace in downtown areas here.
Under a theme ‘Downtown upgradation and Urban Renewal of Shehr-e-Khaas’, which is exclusively for downtown, the roads and historic structures are being renovated.
By the end of this year, all the works in downtown areas will be completed, he said, adding that Downtown markets facade restoration will also be done.
He added that the historic places and other things including 40 ghats of Jhelum will be restored.
