A massive fire broke out in a residential house located in Qalamabad area of Mawer in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, causing extensive damage to the property. The incident occurred during noon when the homeowners were away, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
According to the eyewitnesses present at the scene, the fire spread rapidly, and flames could be seen erupting from the rooftop of the house. The locals immediately alerted the army, police, and fire department, who rushed to the location to control the fire.
Several firemen battled the blaze for hours and managed to prevent it from spreading to other nearby homes. However, the house has been completely razed down by the fire.
The identity of the homeowner remains unknown, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire. The authorities have urged the residents to take necessary precautions and install firefighting equipment to avoid such incidents in the future.
