Baramulla police said to have arrested contractual employee of Health department presently posted at Trauma Hospital Pattan as Ambulance Driver and recovered 200 tabs of Spasmoproxyvon Plus (SP) and 10 syrups of Codiene Phosphate from his possession during a surprise naka checking at Palhallan Morh Pattan.

A police spokesman in a statement said police under the supervision of Mohammad Nawaz-JKPS, SDPO Pattan assisted by PSI Aeraf Niyaz, IC PP Palhallan arrested one person namely Mehraj-ud-Din Sofi son of Mohd Sidiq Sofi resident of Bazar Mohalla Pattan during surprise naka checking at Palhallan Morh Pattan who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehend tactfully by the naka party.
He said, during search of the handbag which he was carrying 200 tabs of Spasmoproxyvon Plus and 10 syrups of Codiene Phosphate was recovered and was taken into custody immediately.
Further questioning, of the person revealed that he is Contractual employee of Health Department and is presently posted at Trauma Hospital Pattan as Ambulance Driver, he said.
Case under NDPS Act registered in Police Station Pattan and investigations set in motion.
