An unknown number of militants have managed to escape after a brief gunfight that broke out in Radbugh area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday morning.

Reliable sources told news agency KDC that there was a brief encounter between militants and a joint team of police and army at around 10;30 hours today. They said there was a lull following which massive searches were launched.
However, they said, there was no second contact established with militants nor any one was arrested, suggesting that the militant fled from the spot.
Earlier, police said “Encounter has started at Redbugh, Magam area of Budgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow”.
