Authorities in Srinagar have sealed 82 mutton shops this week and fined 18 shopkeepers for violating the norms today, officials said on Saturday.

As per the details available with Asian News Hub (ANH), the Assistant Director (Enforcement) Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, said that during the market checking a total of 144 business establishments were inspected.
A penal sum of Rs 30,000 has been collected as fine from 18 erring shopkeepers today for violating Essential Commodities Act, 1995, he said, adding that 84 mutton shops have also been sealed in Srinagar this week.
During the month of January-2023, an amount of Rs 80,700 has been collected as fine from 269 erring traders for violating E.C.Act and also 59 establishments have also been sealed.
