Srinagar, Nov 09: Five students were injured after two groups of students had a scuffle after a volleyball match at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar.
An official told that a late night scuffle happened in NIT Srinagar wherein two groups of students belonging to different batches clashed after the end of a volleyball match. Five students from both sides sustained minor injuries.
Soon after the incident, police on request of NIT authorities entered the campus and normalized the situation.
“A late night scuffle happened in NIT Srinagar wherein 2 group of students belonging to different batches clashed after the end of a volleyball match. 5 students from both sides sustained minor injuries. Police on request of NIT authorities entered campus & situation is normal now,” Srinagar Police said in a tweet.
A police officer while confirming the incident told KDC that among five injured persons three students of NIT Kashmir identified as Rakib Sadiq Mir son of Mohammad Sadiq, a resident of Gurez Bandipora with neck and Arm injury and Harshid and Himanshu both non-locals were brought to SKIMS Soura for treatment, all are said to ‘stable’.
