Islamabad, Feb 10 (ANH): Police personnel in Pakistan’s Punjab have been barred from uploading posts on TikTok, a Chinese short-video making app, UNI reported.

The Punjab police department has put a ban on all its officer from using TikTok during duty hours and said that if any police official’s video goes viral on the social media app, strict departmental measures will be taken against that personnel, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
According to the letter, of news rules, issued by AIG operations to all RPOs, uploading videos on the app and them going viral give a negative image of the police department.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority had several times placed a ban on the app in the country. Last year, Peshawar High Court had also ordered the authorities concerned to impose a ban on TikTok, ARY News reported.
