(Asian News Hub) – Two moderate intensity back to back earthquakes jolted parts of Kashmir on Monday evening, official said.
The Meteorological Department while quoting National Center for Seismology (NCS) said an earthquake of magnitude 5 with epicenter 35:68 N, 75:31E hit Jammu and Kashmir at 7.01 pm.
NCS is the nodal agency of the Centre for monitoring of earthquake activity in the country. The epicenter if the earlier believed to be in Pakistan.
According to an independent weather forecaster, the second earthquake of the magnitude of 4.8 hit J&K at 7.07 pm. The epicenter is also believed to be in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
Officials said there were no immediate report of any damage due to these earthquakes.
