A woman drowned to death in a power canal in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.

Quoting an official news agency KNO reported that Rahati Begum, 42, wife of Abdul Salam Chopan, a resident of Hariganiwa, Ganderbal, drowned in a power canal in the same village in the evening.
After hectic efforts, her body was retrieved by police with the help of locals, he said.

The official said that police have taken cognisance of the incident and started an investigation in this regard.
