Shopian, May 23: On Saturday evening, a woman lost her life after a wall collapsed on her in Check Keegam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said.

An official told that a cemented wall suddenly collapsed in Check Keegam area, and fell on a woman.
Soon after the incident, locals rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation to pull the woman out from the debris, officials said.
However, the woman had already succumbed to her injuries before she could be shifted to a nearby hospital, they said.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident, and further investigation has been initiated. (JKNS)
