Indian Police Services (IPS) officer Basant Rath has said he will join the Bharatiya Janta Party before the next Parliamentary elections.

In a tweet Rath said, he will work and stay in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. He also said he won’t go back to Odisha.
“I’ll join BJP before the next Parliamentary elections. I’ll stay and work in J and K and Ladakh. No question of going back to Odisha,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention that the senior IPS officer Basant Rath had announced his resignation on social media in July 2022, saying he wished to join electoral politics in Jammu and Kashmir.
