Panic gripped Jahama Haril area of Handwara after a wild bear entered the shed of a local resident during night hours, killing livestock and causing heavy loss to the family.
According to locals, a wild bear attacked the livestock shed of Ghulam Ahmad Sheikh, son of Abdul Kareem Sheikh, resident of Jahama Haril, killing 16 sheep on the spot while 14 others were left critically injured.

Residents have appealed to Wildlife and District Administration authorities to take immediate measures to control the movement of wild animals in the area to prevent such incidents in the future.
