People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and MLA Pulwama Waheed Para on Wednesday criticised Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for targeting PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti instead of questioning Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the hijab incident.

In a post on X, Para said he was “not surprised” by Omar Abdullah’s remarks and alleged that the Chief Minister has consistently shielded the NDA and BJP allies on key issues. “From EVMs to hijab, Omar Abdullah has always defended the NDA and its partners,” Para wrote.
He further accused Omar Abdullah of betraying the mandate given by voters. “You took votes in the name of fighting the BJP, only to now attack Kashmir’s own leaders,” Para said in his post on X.
The remarks come amid a political war of words following Omar Abdullah’s criticism of Nitish Kumar and his reference to a past controversy involving Mehbooba Mufti.
