Srinagar, Nov 29: A dramatic incident unfolded at Pratap Park in Srinagar on Saturday afternoon when an unidentified woman allegedly attempted to set herself ablaze, eyewitnesses said.
According to those present at the spot, the woman poured petrol on herself and tried to ignite it. The attempt triggered panic among passersby and visitors inside the park.
However, timely intervention by locals prevented a major tragedy, as they quickly rushed forward and managed to douse the flames. Police personnel arrived within minutes and shifted the woman to a hospital for medical attention.

Her identity and the motive behind the desperate act remain unclear so far. Police said an investigation has been initiated and further details are awaited.
