Budgam, Oct 14: Two young men from Arwah village of Budgam sustained critical injuries in a road accident near Gondipora Beerwah on Tuesday after their Maruti car collided with a JCB, officials said.
The injured have been identified as Owais Ahmad Sofi (18), son of Abdul Rehman Sofi, and Waheed Ahmad Wani (23), son of Muhammad Abdullah Wani, both residents of Arwah Beerwah. Reports said the duo, who work as travelling cloth salesmen, were heading towards Beerwah market when their vehicle met with the accident.
Soon after the collision, locals rushed to the spot and helped rescue the injured before police and medical teams arrived. Both victims were initially taken to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Beerwah and later referred to a Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment. Medical sources said their condition remains critical.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the collision. Eyewitnesses said the impact of the crash was severe, leaving the vehicle badly damaged. (KNT)
