According to media reports, Hezbollah has accepted a proposed plan to halt attacks on Israel, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the agreement but warned that strikes on Beirut would continue if Hezbollah failed to stop attacks on Israeli territory.
However, clashes and exchanges of fire by both sides reportedly continued through the night.
As per reports by Asharq Al-Awsat, Lebanon is expected to seek an expansion of the ceasefire during talks with Israel in Washington on Wednesday. The discussions could potentially revive diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the three-month-long conflict that began following US and Israeli attacks on Iran.
The peace process, however, has remained stalled for weeks under a fragile truce, with negotiators unable to agree on an initial framework for formal peace talks.
