Traffic stopped on Pantha Chowk-Nowgam stretch in Sgr after forces spot suspicious object

(Asian News Hub) – Traffic was stopped on the Pantha Chowk-Nowgam road in Srinagar after security forces spotted a suspicious object, officials said.

The object was found on a day when train services were supposed to be started in Kashmir after a long-time.

A police official told news agency—KNO that the Road Opening Party (RoP) of CRPF and police spotted a suspicious object near Peaks Automobiles, barely few hundred metres away from Nowgam Railway station, after which experts and a bomb disposal squad was called to check the object.

“Traffic has been stopped on the Pantha Chowk-Nowgam road stretch for the safety of people and commuters,” he told.

Cop shot dead at Saidapora Eidgah

(Asian News Hub) – Unknown gunmen on Thursday evening shot dead a policeman in Saidapora area of Eidgah Srinagar.

Official sources said that a policeman identified as Javeed Ahmad Kambey, son of Ghulam Muhammad Kambey of Saidapora was shot at by unknown militants near his residence.

They said that Khandey after receiving fire injury in the neck was immediately shifted to SKIMS Soura in critical condition.

Official sources said that the injured cop later succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.

Woman injured in hit-and-run accident near Noora Hospital Sgr

(Asian News Hub) – A woman was critically injured after she was hit by an unknown vehicle on National highway near Noora Hospital in HMT on the outskirts of Srinagar on Thursday evening.

Official sources said that 48-year-old woman identified as Muneera resident of Tangmarg was hit by the unknown vehicle near Noora Hospital HMT, leaving her severely injured.

They said that the woman was shifted to a nearby hospital where from she was referred to SKIMS Soura in critical condition.

Meanwhile, Police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar visits Bandipora’s Tulail

(Asian News Hub) – Famous Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Thursday visited remote Tulail along the Line of Control in Gurez valley of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Sources said that the actor reached Neeru village of Tulail via helicopter at around 12 noon today.

They said that he is scheduled to interact with Army and BSF jawans at Neeru village.
