A three-storey residential house was completely gutted in a fire that broke out at Umar Colony, Lal Bazar area of Srinagar on Monday morning, officials said.
According to Fire & Emergency Services, the fire call was received at around 8:42 am, following which fire tenders from Hazratbal and Nowshehra stations were rushed to the spot. Additional reinforcement was deployed due to the congested locality.
Firefighters found the structure fully involved in flames but managed to contain the fire, preventing its spread to nearby houses. No loss of life or injuries were reported, however, the house was completely gutted.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
