The individuals, identified as Junaid Hameed Bhat and Salik Imtiyaz, were traced and intercepted by a traffic enforcement team under the supervision of SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir Ravinder Pal Singh, along with DySP Traffic Ganderbal–Bandipora Gulzar Ahmad, the officials said.

They said the vehicles used by the duo for performing stunts were seized under relevant provisions of law.

A counselling session was also conducted in which the two were informed about the legal consequences of stunt driving and the negative influence of circulating such videos on social media, particularly on students and youth.

Officials said special instructions have already been issued by the SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir to field officers to strictly check rash, negligent and stunt driving across rural areas of the Valley.

The traffic police reiterated their appeal to motorists not to hand over vehicles to minors, unlicensed drivers or persons involved in stunt driving, warning that such actions could lead to serious road accidents and fatalities.

The enforcement drive, officials said, will continue as part of efforts to ensure road safety and discipline in the region.(KNS)
