Srinagar, July 04: A 21-year-old youth drowned while bathing in the River Jhelum in the Batwara area of Srinagar on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Adil Ah Shaikh, son of Shakil Ahmad Shaikh, a resident of Batwara Srinagar.
According to reports, he was taking a bath in the river when he drowned. His body was later recovered by a joint team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and River Police Srinagar.
The body has been shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities, while police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated proceedings.
